Pauses give listeners a beat between ideas. Add them from the Outline with the steps below.
Go to the Outline. In the Visuals panel on the right, click the three dots (⋯) next to the section where you want a pause.
Click Add Pause.
A tag such as [pause 1s] is inserted in that section’s script.
Edit the duration as needed:
[pause 2s]for two seconds[pause 0.5s]for half a second
Copy and paste
[pause 1s]anywhere else in the script you want a break.
Tips
Use pauses to emphasize a point or separate ideas.
Avoid stacking many pauses in a short section—flow can feel choppy.
Preview audio before export to confirm timing.
