While VideoGen works hard to deliver fast, high-quality exports, there are a few steps you can take if you notice delays in the process.

Common causes of slow exports

  • Very large media files or long videos with many effects.

  • Uploads of oversized files (images/videos) that increase processing time.

  • Browser cache or cookies holding outdated or corrupted data.

  • Browser extensions, VPNs, or older browser versions interfering with export.

  • Unstable internet connection or background applications using system resources.

  • Using a device that’s under-powered or running out of memory during export.

First actions to try when export fails or takes too long

Start with these quick steps first, as they often resolve the issue right away:

  1. Re-export the video — Sometimes a fresh export clears temporary glitches.

  2. Use smaller media files — Large uploads (especially 25 MB–50 MB+) can cause slow or failed exports. Compress or replace oversized files if possible.

  3. Remove your logo and try exporting again — This helps check if the logo is affecting export speed or causing errors.

If the export still takes too long or fails after these steps, continue with the next troubleshooting list below.

Additional troubleshooting steps before trying again

Try each of these solutions one by one, then re-export after every few adjustments to check if the issue improves:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies to remove outdated or corrupted data.

  2. Perform a hard refresh by pressing Shift + Refresh (or Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) to reload all components.

  3. Use a different browser — We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

  4. Update your browser to ensure optimal compatibility.

  5. Disable browser extensions or VPNs — Some may interfere with the export process.

  6. Restart your device to clear background tasks that may be slowing the system.

  7. Check your internet connection — A stable and strong connection ensures smoother exports.

  8. Try a different device — If you’re exporting from mobile, test it on a laptop or desktop.

After performing these actions, attempt to re-export your project.

Consider the length and complexity of your video

Longer or highly detailed videos take more time to process—especially those using high-resolution footage, complex edits, or detailed captions.

Try the following:

  • Split your video into smaller parts — Exporting in shorter sections can greatly reduce processing time.

  • Add more background clips — When too many captions appear in a single scene, it can overload the system. Distributing them across more scenes helps achieve smoother exports and cleaner visuals.

Note: Exports may take 1 hour or longer depending on the complexity of the videos.

Final Tips

  • Keep videos concise whenever possible.

  • Close unused browser tabs or background apps to free up memory.

  • Regularly clear your cache and keep your browser updated.

  • If the issue continues after all steps, contact VideoGen Support with your project ID and a screenshot of your export status so we can assist further.

NOTE: Videos that include generative images or high-resolution uploads (such as 4K or large file-size media) may require more processing time. These media assets demand additional system resources to render properly, so a longer wait time is expected in such cases.

If you’ve tried the suggestions above and your export is still taking longer than expected, please be assured that we’re actively working to improve the experience.
