How to change background or foreground opacity

Adjusting opacity in VideoGen helps balance your visuals—making backgrounds more subtle or foreground elements like text and shapes stand out.

Change background opacity

  1. Select the background layer in the timeline (it sits under foreground assets).

  2. In the Asset panel on the right, open the Appearance section.

  3. Adjust Opacity until the background looks right.


Change foreground opacity

  1. Select the media asset in the timeline you want to adjust.

  2. In the Asset panel on the right, open the Appearance section.

  3. Adjust Opacity until the element looks right.


Tips

  • Lower background opacity to keep focus on text or key visuals.

  • Place a semi-transparent shape behind text to improve readability.

  • Pair opacity changes with animations (such as fade) for smoother transitions.
