How to edit audio length

Trimming lets you cut your audio to play exactly where you want it. You can shorten or extend an audio clip in the timeline, adjust start and end points with precision, or trim directly from a transcribed speech section.

Ways to Trim Audio

  1. In the Timeline:

    • Select your audio track in the timeline.

    • Drag the edges of the clip left or right to shorten or lengthen it.

    • This is the fastest way to trim when you just need a rough adjustment.

  2. Using the Right-Side Panel:

    • For precise control, click the audio track and use the Trim settings in the right panel.

    • Enter exact start and end times to match your script or visuals perfectly.

    • You can also adjust volume and apply additional effects here.

  3. For Transcribed Speech Sections:

    • Click on the audio file inside your section (e.g., .wav or .mp3).

    • Use the start and end time boxes in the audio editor to trim the file directly.

    • This is especially useful when working with voiceovers or recorded narration.

Best Uses

  • Removing silence or unwanted parts of a recording.

  • Aligning narration perfectly with visuals.

  • Shortening music tracks or sound effects to fit a section.

  • Creating clean intro/outro clips for professional polish.
