Method 1: Start from a new video

  1. Go to app.videogen.io and click New video.

  2. From the available workflows, select AI video clip.

  3. You'll go straight to the editor with the AI Video Clip window open.

  4. In the text field, enter a prompt that clearly describes what you want the clip to show.

    • Example: A timelapse of robotic trees emerging from the ground with a ginger cat watching.

  5. (Optional) Turn on Audio Integration if you want synchronized, auto-generated sound in the clip.

  6. Click Generate Video Clip to start.

Method 2: Add to an existing project

  1. Open your project in the editor.

  2. Select the clip you want to replace, or create a new asset on the timeline.

  3. In the Edit Asset panel on the right, click Change or Replace.

  4. Select AI Video.

  5. In the AI Video window, enter your text prompt.

  6. (Optional) Enable Audio Integration for background sound or synchronized effects.

  7. Click Generate Video Clip.

  8. Preview the clip, then insert or replace it on the timeline as needed.

Your new AI-generated clip appears on the timeline shortly after generation. You can preview, trim, or pair it with captions and other assets.

Quick tips for better results

  • Keep prompts short and specific—about one to two sentences usually works well.

  • Add visual and stylistic cues like "cinematic," "soft lighting," or "realistic texture."

  • Try small wording changes; they often produce noticeably different results.

  • Enable Audio Integration when you want ambient sound or richer audio in the clip.

  • Clip length varies by prompt; expect about 5–10 seconds in most cases.
