How to Record Your Screen, Camera, or Audio

The Record feature allows you to easily capture video or audio within editor. You can record your screen, camera, microphone — or all three at the same time — and automatically generate captions or translations from the audio.

Option 1: Start from Workflow

  1. Go to app.videogen.io and click New Video.

  2. From the available workflows, select Record (Pro).

  3. Choose your preferred recording type:

    • Camera only – Record your webcam.

    • Camera & Screen – Capture both your webcam and your screen.

    • Screen only – Record your display only.

    • Audio only – Record microphone audio without video.

  4. When ready, click the red record button to begin recording.

  5. Click the red button again to stop.

  6. Once done, you can Preview, Insert, or Restart your recording before adding it to your project.

Option 2: Record from the Editor

  1. Open your project in the Editor screen.

  2. On the left panel, click the Record tab.

  3. Click Start Recording to set up your recording.

  4. Choose between Camera only, Camera & Screen, Screen only, or Audio only.

  5. Click the red record button to start and again to stop.

  6. In the top-right corner, use:

    • Preview to review your recording.

    • Insert to add it to your project.

    • Restart to re-record.Tips

  • Ensure your microphone and camera permissions are allowed in your browser before recording.

  • Use Camera & Screen to create tutorials, presentations, or commentary videos.

  • Keep your recordings short and focused for better processing performance.

  • The system will automatically transcribe your audio, which can be used for captions or translations later.
