The Record workflow lets you capture screen recordings, webcam video, or audio directly in VideoGen. After recording, your footage is automatically added to the editor where you can add captions, effects, and more.
When to use
Use this workflow when you want to:
Record a screen tutorial or walkthrough
Capture webcam footage for talking-head videos
Record both screen and camera together
Record audio-only voiceover
How it works
Click New video and select Record.
Choose your recording type:
Screen only — Capture your display
Camera only — Record your webcam
Camera & Screen — Record both together
Audio only — Record microphone audio
Click the red record button to start.
Click the button again (or Stop sharing) to stop.
Preview, insert, or restart your recording.
After inserting, you enter the editor to add captions, trim, and enhance your recording.
Recording options
Screen only — Share your entire screen or a specific window
Camera only — Webcam recording with microphone
Camera & Screen — Picture-in-picture or side-by-side layout
Audio only — Microphone recording without video
Tips
Allow browser permissions for microphone and camera before recording.
Close extra tabs and apps to improve performance.
Record in a quiet, well-lit space for best results.
Your audio is automatically transcribed, which you can use for captions.
