How to create a video using the Prompt to Video workflow

The Prompt to Video workflow allows you to generate a short AI video clip (up to 15 seconds) from a single prompt or reference image.

Written by Emmanuel Rances

When to use

Use this workflow when you want to:

  • Generate a short AI video from a text prompt

  • Create videos from reference images

  • Quickly prototype visual ideas

  • Use AI assistance to refine prompts before generation

Steps

  1. From the Home page, scroll down to Featured Workflows.

  2. Click Prompt to Video.

  3. Use the AI Assistant on the left panel to brainstorm, refine, or improve your prompt.

  4. When the AI Assistant suggests a prompt, click:

    • Accept to use it.

    • Decline to continue refining it.

  5. Once accepted, the prompt will populate the text field in the center of the screen.

  6. (Optional) Upload one or more reference images to guide the generation.

  7. Click Generate start frame.

  8. Review the generated start frame and make adjustments if needed.

  9. Configure your video settings:

    • Quality: Standard or High

    • Duration: 1–15 seconds

Higher quality settings and longer durations consume more AI usage.

  10. Click Generate video.

  11. Once generation is complete, you'll be taken to the Preview screen where you can review the generated video.

After generation

In the top-right corner, you'll see the following options:

  • Restart — Start over and create a new video using the Prompt to Video workflow.

  • Edit — Open the generated video in the Project Editor to make changes.

  • Share — Share the project with others or export the video.

Tips

  • Use clear and specific prompts for the best results.

  • Upload reference images to guide the visual style and subject.

  • Review the generated start frame before creating the final video.

  • Higher quality settings and longer durations consume more AI usage.

  • Focus on a single scene or concept for more consistent output.
