Why is my video stuck generating?

Common causes of slow or stuck video generation and what to do.

Video generation can take time depending on the complexity of your project. If your video seems stuck, here are the common causes and what you can do.

How long should generation take?

Most videos generate within a few minutes. Longer or more complex videos may take up to 10 minutes per attempt. The system automatically retries up to 3 times if there is an issue.

Common causes of slow generation

  • Many sections: Videos with many scenes or sections take longer to process.

  • AI-generated content: Generating AI images, video clips, or avatars adds processing time.

  • High server load: During peak times, your video may queue before processing starts.

  • Large media files: Projects with high-resolution uploads take longer to process.

What to do if generation seems stuck

  1. Wait a few more minutes. Generation can take up to 10 minutes. The progress indicator updates as work completes.

  2. Refresh the page. If the status has not updated, refreshing may restore the connection and show the latest progress.

  3. Check for error messages. If generation fails, you will see an error and be returned to the outline editor to make changes.

  4. Try generating again. If an error occurred, review your outline and click Generate again.

When generation fails

If generation does not complete after retries, you may see:

  • "Failed to generate video" β€” A general error occurred. Try again or simplify your project.

  • Storage limit reached β€” You may need to free up storage or upgrade your plan.

After a failure, you are returned to the outline step where you can make edits and retry.

Tips to avoid issues

  • Keep projects under 20 sections for faster generation.

  • Use standard video and image formats for uploads.

  • Do not start a new generation while one is in progress.

  • Check your storage usage before generating large projects.
